POWERED BY GREAT HUMANS

Justine Reily

“I move past perimeters of physical reality, into the energy that takes hold in our being from moment to moment - reaching beyond language, form or culture.” - Justine Reilly

Justine's contemporary fused images explore the deconstruction of traditional female archetypes by capturing the honesty of the moment between self and other, with societal discord, private pressure and the emotional conflict modern life demands.

Using different mediums: acrylics, graphite, posca pen, charcoal, ink, pens, pastels & poster markers - finished with embellishments of metallic leaf and tape - give her work a strong physical presence.

Formative and graphic elements of energetic manifestation are united in her works, creating multidimensional scenes taking place outside time and space. The inner energetic collides with the outer world of form, creating an environment of abstract discord that engages the viewer.

Her work is arresting as it is beautiful, primal and elemental, defying the “norm” of beauty by casting light upon the inner being in all aspects of self: healing, defiant and radiant glory.

Her ability to manifest the metaphysical into the physical, using softness and scale creates a sense of lyrical unease, enticing the viewer to look deeper, giving Justine her own unique and unmistakeable signature.
